Description
By Provincial Law No. 7 of 2003, the 2000 variant to the Provincial Urban Plan was approved.
The main needs that required an update of the PUP are
- to take note of the changes that have taken place in recent years in the Trentino territorial reality, also following the implementation of the PUP itself
- to include in the PUP (especially in the cartography) indications of interventions, already planned or in any case clearly defined at the planning level, which had not been contemplated at the time of its approval (e.g. in the sector of roads, services, infrastructures, civil protection, etc.)
- adapting the regulations of the PUP to the new elements of the legislative and institutional framework that interact with the Trentino planning system (the new provincial urban planning law, the institution of the EIA procedure, the issuing of directives and criteria in the area of territorial planning, and others)
- to verify in the PUP the in-depth studies carried out during the formation of district urban plansand general regulatory plans, on the issues that the PUP deliberately asked subordinate bodies to specify at the time of their drafting (e.g. in the area of the environment, infrastructure, etc.)
- taking into account the fact that some of the PUP's indications are to be considered no longer current because they no longer respond to sector reforms, to the dynamics of settlement processes (e.g. those for commercial areas, etc.);
- to simplify certain procedures established by the PUP for the implementation of interventions, especially with regard to the reference to subordinate plans, and to ensure that certain precautionary constraints can be removed in correspondence with works actually carried out.

Cartography
In order to consult the cartography of the variant 2000, it is necessary to install an additional module (ECWPLUGIN). If it is not already present, the system will request its installation.
