The route, which received the Italian Green Road Award in 2020 as the greenest bicycle path in Italy, runs along the valley floor from west to east, skirting the river Brenta for almost its entire length until it reaches the regional border. Starting from Trento and passing through Pergine, the route skirts the shores of Lake Caldonazzo from San Cristoforo to Calceranica and enters the towns of Caldonazzo and Borgo Valsugana, finally reaching the municipality of Grigno on the border with Veneto. The route connects almost all the villages on the valley floor, and the valley itself to the provincial capital, thanks to the Trento-Pergine section, whose works are nearing completion. From Trento (loc. Ponte Alto) to Pergine, there is a diversion on a mixed road through the municipality of Civezzano.
Downstream of Caldonazzo, there is the junction with the bicycle link road to Levico Terme, where a brief stop to visit the splendid Parco delle Terme, and Lake Levico with its biotope, is a must.
Two other slip roads safely connect the villages of Roncegno Terme (northern junction of the village of Borgo Valsugana) and Villa Agnedo to the main route along the valley floor.
The national routes Bicitalia 12 - Ciclovia Pedemontana Alpina, which runs along the entire Alpine arc from Trieste to Savona, and Bicitalia 13 - Ciclovia Claudia Augusta (from Passo Resia to Ostiglia) also pass along the cycle route.
The route is served by numerous rest areas and offers the cyclist the possibility of refreshments and assistance at the bicigrill as well.
