The shores of Lake Idro, with their ample parking areas and numerous services available, welcome cycle tourists as an ideal starting point along the cycle route and for a visit to the villages and natural, historical and gastronomic sites in the area. From the car park (km 0.000), the route continues along small roads through the countryside at the mouth of the River Chiese, then up its banks in a northerly direction along the valley.
Having reached the point where the Lora and Palvico streams meet the Chiese (km 2.410), two small covered bridges make it possible to go further on and take the main link road along the right bank of the Palvico stream to the village of Storo.
Continuing along the main route, the cyclist can enjoy the tranquillity and amenity of the area, also thanks to the numerous rest areas and equipped parks, among which worthy of note is the park in the locality of Fontana Santa, embellished by an evocative waterfall with a small lake. From here, a short section of the route becomes a nature trail with a dirt surface, winding through a wild and lonely environment. Along the way we come across 'calchere', interesting artefacts from the past used for the production of quicklime.
The route continues on an asphalt surface with alternating stretches on protected and mixed roads, through the municipalities of Borgo Chiese, Pieve di Bono-Prezzo, Sella Giudicarie and Borgo Lares, until reaching, passing through Bolbeno, Tione di Trento, where it intersects with the Val Rendena cycle route.
