Description
In this context, the structure of the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation includes the Functional Networks, an instrument conceived to put the concept of network management into practice, bringing together the provincial and regional technicians of the Administrations around thematic tables.
The Functional Networks directly involved in the governance of the territory affected by the UNESCO Site number five (originally seven, they were reduced following a merger in 2015) and focus their work on the following themes
- Geological Heritage
- Education and Scientific Research
- Development, Sustainable Tourism and Mobility
- Landscape Heritage and Protected Areas
- Promotion of Sustainable Tourism.
Each working table is coordinated by one of the provincial/regional administrations involved in the management of the Property and brings together the relevant technical officials, developing through periodic meetings - and continuous comparison work - projects and activities that are part of the planning of the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation, constituting an integral part of it both financially and programmatically.
The Autonomous Province of Trento coordinates the two functional networks of Geological Heritage and Education and Scientific Research.
