Analysis of Alpine Hut Needs

Considering the ever-changing context due to both the challenges resulting from climate change and the changing expectations of mountain visitors, it is appropriate to know the current state of the alpine huts from various points of view and to collect, from the point of view of the manager, the criticalities and emerging needs with a view to future improvement of the actions taken by the provincial administration.

To this end a questionnaire was sent to the 74 mountain huts on the provincial list of alpine huts and in operation. The questionnaire covered the following topics

1. general information
2. hut guests and services
3. refuge guests' needs analysis
4. environmental changes and repercussions
5. energy supply and saving
6. water supply and saving
7. waste management
8. solid waste management
9. procurement of goods
10. identification of critical issues in hut management and investment priorities

51 responses were received by the deadline (15 November 2021) with a response rate of 69% of mountain huts.
