General information
The importance of dual training for a smooth transition from education to work and the economic relevance of skilled crafts and trade professions are widely recognised at the policy level. Yet, SMEs are often confronted with the difficulty of recruiting and engaging motivated and learning-ready apprentices. Today, an increasing number of apprentices belong to marginalised groups: school drop-outs or those with learning difficulties, refugees, etc. The FutureSkills4trainers project intends to develop and implement a training programme for company and school mentors involved in dual pathways to give them the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and competences needed to successfully guide, motivate and accompany apprentices from highly diverse backgrounds during their apprenticeship experience. In this way, young people have the opportunity to successfully complete their apprenticeship and training companies can benefit from the qualified apprentices they have trained.
Goals
The project aims to develop a training programme for company and school mentors involved in dual pathways to acquire the knowledge, skills and competences necessary to successfully guide, motivate and accompany apprentices from diverse backgrounds. In this way, young people are guaranteed to successfully complete their apprenticeship and companies to benefit from qualified and trained apprentices.
