In September 2000, as many as 189 heads of state and government unanimously signed the Millennium Declaration. A global pact between rich and poor countries on the planet to eradicate poverty from the world. The Declaration includes eight strategic Goals to be achieved by 2015. Achieving the Millennium Goals becomes a binding commitment
for all as the only way to guarantee peaceful coexistence and provide a future for all, poor and rich, North and South, small countries and the Greats of the Earth. The Declaration becomes the framework within which to operate, also for our Province.
