Description
In a full-bodied volume of over 600 pages, accompanied by a solid iconographic apparatus, are collected the contributions of 13 scholars who give an account, each in their own field of competence, of the eclectic and articulated history of Trentino museums. Ranging from artistic, historical, ethnographic, musical and scientific collections, their genesis, development and individual peculiarities are investigated. The analysis looks at both public museums and private collections in consideration of the fact that there is a very close relationship between the two. Collecting has often played a founding role for many museums, nourishing their exhibition nuclei with precious donations and bequests.
