The volumes of the series 'Dizionario toponomastico trentino' ('Trentino toponymic dictionary') that 'examine' the valleys of Trentino, a research project started in 1987 when, on the basis of a provincial law, the Province promoted the study of toponyms and the publication of the relevant data, have now reached number 13. In fact, toponyms not only represent an essential source of ancient dialect forms, but also provide information on the territorial and environmental specificities that once characterised Trentino, acting as a tool for safeguarding a heritage that is therefore also cultural. This volume is therefore also precise and accurate, rich in exemplification and description of dialectal features, geographical and historical information, photographs and topographical location maps: approximately 3,000 toponyms concerning the municipalities of Lona-Lasés, Segonzano and Sovér.
