Description
The report presents the results of the project of the same name launched in 2017 to answer the following questions for the Trentino context: What are non-cognitive skills and what are their peculiarities? Is it possible “to develop them” during the school experience? If so, how? How can these competences be assessed and certified to contribute to the overall development of Trentino students? And how can the valorisation of these particular competences be included in local school policies for the future?
The research is part of the wide-ranging interdisciplinary debate that has developed in recent decades concerning the possibility of considering other types of individual characteristics, in addition to the traditional academic and cognitive ones, in order to explain educational success and, more generally, the acquisition of the status of adult citizen, responsible and active participant in everyday life.
