In implementation of Article no. 26 of the provincial law on programming - according to which the Provincial Council transmits an annual report to the Council, at the time of presentation of the General Accounts, analysing the economic and social situation in Trentino - this year too the Programming Service has punctually printed its Report. And once again this year, the task of illustrating the characteristics and dynamics of Trentino's economic and social system, as far as the social aspect is concerned, fell to Professor Antonio Schizzerotto, President of the Observatory's Board of Directors, and Professor Enrico Zaninotto, Vice-President of the same Board of Directors, for the economic aspect. The report is divided into two parts: the first illustrates the basic features of Trentino society (population, family, social mobility, etc.), while the second offers a careful analysis of the provincial economy, with a space dedicated to the anti-recession manoeuvre implemented by the Province during 2009. The Report on Trentino's economic and social situation is therefore an important opportunity to learn about the Trentino economy and society in a national and international context, a useful analysis tool also to help Trentino emerge from the economic crisis that is affecting the whole world.
