Description
They are called 'social determinants of health' because they influence health status. They include not only education, work and income, but also the socio-economic conditions in which people live. Knowledge and monitoring of the effects of social determinants on lifestyles is crucial for designing health promotion interventions in all policies and, more generally, for reducing inequalities in health status and improving the well-being of the entire population. This is in line with the objectives of the Health 2020 strategy of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Trentino Health Plan 2015-2025;
The report explores this issue in depth; among the data, Trentino's position of excellence, compared to the Italian context, emerges in certain sectors, such as the school system and income.
