Health and Training: health training in international solidarity

by the International Solidarity Department Department for International Solidarity and Coexistence
Editorial coordination by Fabrizio Zilia Bonamini Pepoli
Autonomous Province of Trento, 2012.

Description

The Memorandum of Understanding formalised on 29 October 2010 between the Province and the Provincial Board for Health Services provided, among the shared objectives, for the involvement of medical and paramedical staff in international solidarity projects, favouring above all those projects which concern the training of local staff. In view of this, the need was highlighted for Trentino's medical and paramedical staff themselves to be updated on the health situation in the countries where Trentino operates cooperation projects, on the approaches, methods and tools used. To this end, the joint technical committee, envisaged by the Memorandum of Understanding, decided to organise a seminar focusing on decentralised health training, activating a Continuing Medical Education CME programme to update Trentino's medical and paramedical staff. The seminar was also open to all Trentino associations operating in this sector, in order to create a meeting occasion in which to share activities, ideas and objectives.
