Description
Travelling through the lower Non Valley, Castel Thun appears in views in which the building barely, but clearly, emerges from a landscape that varies with the time of day and the seasons, almost as if to decorate the surrounding area.
The subject of the publication, however, is the immediate surroundings of the castle. Just as a tree needs its roots, the manor cannot live without its territory. The bond that unites them is one of mutual dependence.
The author accompanies us on a not-too-long walk, taking us to recognise the sites of the missing target, to catch a glimpse of the ruined roccolo, to notice the wooden gate in the forest that still stands guard over nothing, to pause at the chapel of St Martin, to refresh ourselves in Nosino still lively and unpretentious, to turn around the hillside until we reach the chapel of St John of Nepomuk.
