Description and content
The Provincial Urban Plan (PUP) is one of the provincial planning instruments provided for by Law No. 4 of 1996.
The current plan was approved in 2008 by Law No. 5. It was published on 10 June 2008 in the Regional Official Bulletin and came into force on 26 June 2008. The relevant strategic environmental assessment was carried out in 2007.

In the preliminary document approved by the Council with resolution no. 2187 of 2004, the strategies, goals and contents of the plan are explained, as well as the problems and potential of the territory.
With the 2000 PUP variant and the related implementation measures, the Province carried out a work of verification, revision and simplification of the urban plan.

The Council approved the implementing provisions of the plan with Resolution No. 395 of 2010.
With Resolutions n.405 of 2013, n.756 of 2015 and n.2415 of 2015, the programmes of interventions for the maintenance and rationalisation of existing facilities and structures, linked to skiing, and interventions for the environmental and cultural enhancement, also for tourism purposes, relative to the Presena and Marmolada glacier areas were approved, in implementation of art.28 of the implementation regulations of the urban plan.
With Resolution No. 2050 of 20 October 2023, the Provincial Council approved the draft law for a variant to the Provincial Urban Plan (PUP) concerning the Corridoio Est (East Corridor) connection area.
The PUP was updated for the expansion of the Verona-Brenner railway network and the updating of the hydrographic network.
